Candace, who was just 5 years old at the time, could be found in the Central Boys & Girls Club wherever the books were. It was then that she discovered her passion for reading and realized she was unique since the Club staff commended her reading abilities. Dr.
Bird managed policy, planning, and resource management of Air Force Child Development Centers, Family Child Care Programs, School Age Care Programs, and BGCA-affiliated Youth Centers as Chief of Child & Youth Programs for the United States Air Force from 2012 until 2016.
