Governor Chris Christie nominated Cami Anderson for the position of State District Superintendent for Newark Public Schools in May of 2011, where she is accountable for increasing student success for more than 40,000 pupils. She was the Superintendent of Alternative High Schools and Programs for the New York City Department of Education before joining NPS (District 79).
