Brian Ashby is probably known by most people as the host of HGTV's Building Character, but in addition to hosting the show, he has also worked as an actor, director, singerdancer, and music director. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Communication Arts and Theater, Ashby started his own AV company called Ashby and Associates in 1991. The company has since been listed as one of the top twenty AV companies in the entire D.C. area. In addition to running Ashby and Associates and hosting Building Character, Brian Ashby has also done work in several regional theaters, been in several commercials, and done voice-over work for several films.

After studying communication arts and theater and hosting HGTV's Building Character for several years, Bryan Ashby is no stranger to the stage. He has the ability to sustain the attention of any audience with his lively and interesting presentations.
