Bruce Hood studies the mind's cognitive processes, awareness, brain development, and adult magical thinking. He's also recognized for researching the roots of children's superstitions. Bruce is presently a Professor of Developmental Psychology in Society in the School of Experimental Psychology at the University of Bristol, where he specializes in developmental cognitive neuroscience.

He has worked as a research fellow at Cambridge University and University College London, as well as a visiting scientist at MIT and a Harvard faculty member. He delivered the 2011 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, Meet Your Brain, which was aired on the BBC to over 4 million people. He has participated in numerous scientific films.
