The British Paraorchestra, situated in London, is the world's first orchestra made up completely of musicians with impairments. The Paraorchestra was founded in 2011 by conductor Charles Hazlewood as a project to establish a platform for the best-impaired musicians, with the goal of bettering the inclusion of the disabled in music and the performing arts.

The orchestra gave its debut live performance in July 2012 at Glastonbury Abbey (which was also the subject of a Channel 4 documentary), and it gained international prominence when it performed alongside Coldplay at the 2012 Summer Paralympics closing ceremony in London in September 2012.
