Make it happen. That's what Steven Spielberg told Brian Herzlinger, a high school senior, in 1994. Those remarks stayed with Herzlinger: Three years later, he graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Cinema & Photography, having written and directed The Film Contest, a short 16mm film that gained national acclaim.
Herzlinger moved to Los Angeles and interned at DreamWorks and MGM before working as a Production Assistant on a variety of commercials and music videos. He then worked as a Producer's P.A. on the successful CBS medical drama Chicago Hope for two seasons.
