Barry graduated with honors from Swarthmore College with a bachelor's degree in economics and a minor in political science in 1989. In 1994, he got a master's degree in business administration from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business, as well as a National Doctoral Fellowship.
Brian Barry is the Executive Director of Chicago Booth's Initiative on Global Markets and a Clinical Professor of Economics. The IGM examines how markets function, their consequences, and how they interact with policies and institutions to examine global movements of capital, products, and talent in the contemporary economy.
