Brett Young Biography

Brett Young is a prominent country pop artist known for his soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics. Hailing from Orange County, California, he was a baseball athlete in high school and pursued a baseball scholarship at Ole Miss, finishing his career at Fresno State. While a talented pitcher, his baseball career ended after an elbow injury, which led him to focus on music. 

His singing career began at church, where he led Christian worship at his high school meetings. He then performed at California venues as an opening act for artists such as Colbie Caillat and Katy Perry. Destined for the mecca of country music, he signed with Big Machine Label Group shortly after arriving in Nashville. 

His debut EP, "Brett Young" (2016), featured the single “Sleep Without You,” followed by the Diamond-certified “In Case You Didn’t Know” (2017), his first #1 on the Country Airplay chart. His debut album reached #2 on the Top Country Albums chart. Subsequent albums include "Ticket to L.A." (2018), with #1 single “Here Tonight,” and "Weekends Look a Little Different These Days" (2021), featuring #1 single “Lady,” written for his daughter.  Young has won the 2018 ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year and a 2017 CMT Music Award.

He resides in Nashville, runs a lifestyle brand, Caliville, and joined the Music City Baseball advisory board in 2021 to bring professional baseball to Nashville.
