Brett Dennen Biography

Brett Dennen was born on October 28, 1979. He is a Northern California-based folk/pop singer and songwriter. Dennen has been a part of The Mosaic Project since its beginning in 2001, a nonprofit organization that has been teaching peace and understanding to youngsters in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dennen produced an original musical curriculum for The Mosaic Project as its "Resident Rock Star" and program director, which was published as a CD titled "Children's Songs for Peace and a Better World" in 2003. It received a 2004 Children's Music Web Award as well as a Parent's Choice Approved Award in 2004. Dennen's self-titled debut solo album, "Brett Dennen," was published in 2004. In 2006, he released his second album, "So Much More." The hits "Ain't No Reason," "She's Mine," and "Darlin' Do Not Fear" were among them. Dennen was also included on the 2006 tribute album "Drink To Bones That Turn To Dust: A Toast To Oingo Boingo," which included a version of "Private Life." Dennen and Jason Mraz collaborated on the Survival International charity CD "Songs for Survival" in 2008, contributing the song "Long Road to Forgiveness." Dennen's third album, "Hope for the Hopeless," was published in 2008 on the Downtown/Dualtone label. Femi Kuti, a Nigerian Afrobeat artist, was featured on the album's debut song, "Make You Crazy."The album reached #4 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums list and #41 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Natalie Merchant featured as a guest on a pre-recorded rendition of the album's song "Heaven." Dennen contributed heavily to Crosby Loggins' solo debut album, "Time To Move," released in 2009, which also included John Mayer. Dennen's music has been used in a number of TV programs. Dennen has acquired national advertising campaigns for numerous brands in addition to television shows. In 2011, he released his fourth album, "Loverboy," which debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums list and #55 on the Billboard 200.
