Their lack of representation has been obvious, as has the impact on their ability to play an effective, forward-thinking role. The current and future global fault lines will continue to signify increased geopolitical dangers until the features of a new world order become evident. Tensions between internationalism and nationalism, for example, create problematic concerns in an era of a supposedly unified "global village." Political, economic, and security differences are all as virulent. In such a context, strengthening multilateralism needs enhanced global geopolitics in order to develop cooperative political methods. It is just as vital to improving politics as it is to improve economics. Reforming international institutions and laws is also required to strengthen multilateralism. A world in the twenty-first century cannot be enslaved by twentieth-century institutions. The difficulties that the world faces are truly unique. The concerns, which range from rapid global warming to uncontained international terrorism, are novel, and their scope is genuinely global.
