Brad Friedel is a goalkeeper for the United States national team. Between 1992 and 2005, he appeared in 82 games for the United States Men's National Soccer Team, including three FIFA World Cup competitions, making him the third most-capped goalie in the team's history. Fans dubbed him "The Human Wall" after his outstanding performance in the 2002 World Cup.
Brad Friedel won the National Collegiate Athletic Association championship in 1990 and was named to the Division I First-Team All-American (soccer) team in 1991 and 1992. He was voted University Player of the Year and received the Herman Trophy in 1992.
