Bowling for Soup (commonly typeset as Bowling for Soup! or shortened as BFS) is an American pop-punk band based in Denton, Texas that started in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1994. In September 1994, they released their self-titled and self-published first album. In February 1996, they issued their second album, “Cell Mates,” a split record with The V.I.M.S. on their own label Que-so Records. “Rock On Honorable Ones!!,” their third album, was released in 1997 and is the only Bowling For Soup record to feature a horn section. “Tell Me When to Whoa,” their fourth studio album, was released in June 1998 on the local Denton music label FFROE, and was then re-issued in 1999. Bowling for Soup's big label debut, "Let's Do It for Johnny!!," was released on Jive in 2000. Bowling for Soup's second album with Jive Records, "Drunk Enough to Dance," was released in August 2002. Girl All The Bad Guys Want, one of the album's songs, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2003 for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The band's lone Top 40 album, "A Hangover You Don't Deserve," was released in 2004 and peaked at #37 on the Billboard 200 Albums list. The album's sales were boosted in great measure by radio exposure of the single 1985.” Mitch Allan, the lead vocalist of SR-71, provided backing vocals and starred in the music video. Bowling for Soup's biggest hit in the United States was 1985, when it peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles list. In 2005, the band released “Bowling for Soup Goes to the Movies,” a compilation CD of cover songs and contributions to movie soundtracks. Their next album, "The Great Burrito Extortion Case," was released in 2006 and reached number 88 on the Billboard 200. In October 2009, they released their next album, "Sorry for Partyin'." It debuted at number 104 on the Billboard 200 Albums list and at number 47 on the Rock Albums chart. “Fishin' for Woos” was released in 2011 by Que-so Records/Brando Records. It debuted at #37 on the Billboard Independent Albums list and #189 on the Billboard 200.
