Bobby Bones was a child raised by a single mother for most of his life. His mother battled addiction and died in her 40’s of a drug overdose which led to Bones’ adoption by his grandmother.
Being a proud “food stamp and welfare kid” that found his way out of his tough circumstances through hard work and education, Bones was the first in his family to graduate high school and college. He started his show by himself with the help of his friends neither of which had any prior radio experience.
