Gene Robinson is an American Progress Senior Fellow. On June 7, 2003, he was elected bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, after serving as Canon to the Ordinary (assistant to the bishop) for over 18 years.
On All Saints Sunday, November 2, 2003, he was ordained a bishop and installed as the Ninth Bishop of New Hampshire on March 7, 2004. Robinson earned a B.A. in American studies and history from the University of the South in 1969. In 1973, he received his M.Div.
