Bill Griffeth is the co-anchor of CNBC's Closing Bell at 3 p.m. ET. He is one of the country's most recognized financial journalists, with almost 30 years of experience in business television. He offers a comprehensive understanding of the markets and market history to CNBC's programming and is recognized for his quick wit and ability to think on his feet. Griffeth was a member of the production team that launched the Financial News Network (FNN), the first cable news channel, in 1981. He was nominated for a CableACE award for outstanding news anchor during his ten years at FNN for his efforts anchoring coverage of the 1987 stock market crisis. Griffeth joined the CNBC crew after NBC acquired FNN in 1991. Market Wrap, Mutual Fund Investor, The Money Club, and the highly popular Power Lunch (M-F: 1 p.m.-2 p.m. ET), which he co-hosted with Sue Herera, are just a few of the programs he's hosted for the network throughout the years. He was nominated for six additional CableACE awards along the way. Griffeth is the author of three books: By Faith Alone: One Family's Epic Journey Through 400 Years of American Protestantism, which was released in 2007, Bill Griffeth's Ten Steps to Financial Prosperity, which was published in 1994, and The Mutual Fund Masters, which was published in 1995. Griffeth graduated from California State University, Northridge with a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1980, and the university recognized him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2000.
