William V. Cowan, often known as Bill Cowan, is a retired United States Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, a public speaker on national security and terrorism, and a former Fox News Channel commentator from 2001 until 2016.
At the age of 17, he joined in the United States Navy, was appointed to and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1966, and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He then served in Vietnam for three and a half years.
