American actor and stand-up comedian, Bill Bellamy, first gained national notoriety on HBO’s Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam where he is credited for creating or coining the phrase booty call that can be used to describe a late-night call to a potential paramour with the intention of meeting strictly for sex. As a host and VJ of several MTV programs including MTV Jamz and MTV Beach House, Bellamy was a staple on MTV for many years. He also went on to star in a number of movies including Fled, Love Jones, The Brother, How to Be a Player, Getting Played, and Any Given Sunday. Bellamy also made a couple of TV show appearances on episodes of Kenan and Kel. He was also on the Nickelodeon television show, Cousin Skeeter, where he played Skeeter. In 2002 alongside Peter Facinelli and Tiffani Thiessen, Bellamy was also given a co-starring role in the Fox Network television show, Fastlane. Currently, Bellamy is the host and executive producer of Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes? On TV One of which is in its fourth season. On the late-night E! talk show, Chelsea Lately, Bellamy is a frequent roundtable guest.
