Famous for radical activism in the 1960s, and his current work in curriculum, instruction, reform and education; Bill Ayers is a leader in the counterculture movement who opposed US involvement in the Vietnam War and he’s also an elementary education theorist. A self-described communist revolutionary group known as Weather Underground was co-founded by Ayers in 1969.
Overthrowing imperialism, that conducted a campaign of bombing and destroying public buildings (including the Pentagon, the US Capitol Building and police stations) during the 1960s and 1970s in response to US involvement in the Vietnam War; was the group’s goal. Ayers was formerly a Senior University Scholar and Distinguished Professor of Education.
