Google's Chief Information Officer, Ben Fried, is in charge of the company's global IT infrastructure. He has worked as a dBASE II programmer, front-line support manager, Macintosh developer, Windows programmer, and Unix systems programmer, among other positions. Prior to joining Google, he worked for Morgan Stanley's technology department for more than 13 years, rising to the position of Managing Director.
He led teams responsible for software development technology, online and electronic commerce technologies and operations, and knowledge worker technologies throughout his time there. Ben is a Columbia University graduate.
