Barrington Levy is a dancehall and reggae musician. He was born in Jamaica and quickly started a band with his cousin called the Mighty Multitude. My Black Girl, a 1977 album by the cousins, was released. Levy opted to pursue a solo career the next year. At the time, he was barely fourteen years old.
Soon after, Levy met record producers Junjo Lawes and Hyman Wright and recorded a number of singles that helped launch his career.
