Babak Nivi is one of Angel List's co-founders. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science, a master's degree in electrical engineering and computer science, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science. MIT conferred all of these degrees. He worked as a graduate research assistant at MIT.
He worked for Seed Capital Partners in Boston from 2001 until 2004. From 2004 to 3005, he worked as a consultant for Atlas Venture. He was also the Entrepreneur in Residence at Bessemer in 2005, working with David Cowan. Following that, he served as the Vice President of Songbird from 2005 to 2007.
