Austin Stevens is a herpetologist, wildlife photographer, filmmaker, and author from South Africa who is most known for hosting a series of snake films, the most famous of which being Austin Stevens: Most Dangerous. Austin Stevens was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and began his fascination with snakes when he was 12 years old.
His reptile collection comprised some of the world's most unusual and poisonous species by the time he graduated from high school. Stevens' mother lost a lung in a car accident when he was a child, was unwell all of his life, and died while he was in his 30s; his father had a tiny typewriter repair shop.
