Boris was educated at the European School in Brussels Ashdown House and then at Eton College. He later read Classics at Balliol College Oxford as a Brackenbury scholar and during this time became president of the prestigious Oxford Union.Boris's career in journalism included serving as The Telegraph's European Community correspondent from 1989-1994 and assistant editor from 1994-1999.
He became editor of The Spectator in 1999 and stayed in this role until December 2005.In 2001 he was elected MP for Henley on Thames replacing Michael Heseltine.
