During his tenure, he has served on a number of different military and advisory boards, including the Navy Chief of Chaplains Ethics Advisory Committee and the Rabbinic Cabinet of the Jewish Theological Seminary Chancellor.

He worked as National Director of Interreligious Affairs for the American Jewish Committee after retiring from the Navy in 2001, and as Special Assistant (for Values and Vision) to the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Air Force from 2006 to 2007.

Rabbi Resnicoff has spoken at many civilian and military forums on pluralism, religious freedom, leadership, and values, including the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs in New York, the Northeastern Political Science Association, the Joint Service Commission on Professional Ethics (JSCOPE), the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), and the Begin-Sadat Centennial.

His presentation on religion and the military, which he gave at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), was shown on all C-SPAN stations several times.

He organized and led the inaugural Conference on Ethics and Leadership for the Camp David personnel in 1996, and he has spoken at more than 10 yearly Naval War College conferences on Ethics and the Military, which he helped to develop as a student at the NWC.

He won the NWC's President's Honor Graduate Award upon graduation and went on to teach Faith and Force: Religion, War, and Peace, the first-class given by a chaplain at any US military war college.
