Exploration Institute's President and Founder are Dr. Armin Ellis. He founded EI because he believes that exploration is the key to a better future, and he wants to make it more accessible and safe for anybody who wants to explore and share their discoveries with others. “Exploration, in my opinion, is one of the most essential activities we can engage in since it not only helps us grow as individuals, but it also benefits our society by increasing the number of people who have an explorer's attitude and think creatively. Dr. Ellis earned his bachelor's degree in space systems engineering and instrumentation from Dartmouth College. He has worked on various Mars-related projects and directed numerous mission concept and formulation tasks at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. From airplane campaigns to tiny satellites to flagship Decadal Survey missions, he's done it all.
