Miss Kirkwood holds two master's degrees in education, one in school counseling and the other in community counseling, from Youngstown State University. April worked as a social worker, teacher, guidance counselor, mentor for new teachers, and counselor for over twenty-five years in public education and the mental health area.
She currently splits her time between Florida and Ohio, where she spends the majority of her time writing, sharing her experience with others, assisting women, and speaking in public.
