Annette Heuser is the founder and executive director of the Bertelsmann Foundation's Washington, DC office, a private, non-partisan operational foundation that promotes and develops transatlantic cooperation. She was formerly the Executive Director of the Foundation's Brussels office, which she helped create in 2000. She was Director Europe/USA at the Bertelsmann Stiftung in GĂĽtersloh, Germany, from 1995 to 2000.
She oversaw European and trans-Atlantic programs and spearheaded European networking initiatives in her role. Annette formerly worked at Bertelsmann AG, Europe's largest media business, as vice president of international relations. She was the editor of the Jahrbuch der Europäischen Integration, a yearly book that chronicles the institutional and political advances in European integration throughout the year.
