Since 2014, Anne Hidalgo, a French–Spanish politician, has served as Mayor of Paris. She is the first woman to be elected to the position.
She has been a member of the Socialist Party since 1994 and served as First Deputy Mayor of Paris under Bertrand Delano (2001–2014), after serving as a Paris City Councillor since the 2001 municipal elections in the 15th arrondissement. Hidalgo was re-elected as mayor of Paris on June 28, 2020.
