Ann Killion, a native of San Francisco and a Marin County native, has covered Bay Area sports for more than two decades. Ann joined The Chronicle in 2012 as an award-winning journalist and a veteran of the last 10 Olympics, many World Cups, and the Tour de France.
Ann has written for the San Jose Mercury News, the Los Angeles Times, and Sports Illustrated, among other publications. She co-wrote Solo: A Memoir of Hope with soccer star Hope Solo and Throw Like A Girl with softball superstar Jennie Finch, and she is a New York Times best-selling book. She resides in Mill Valley with her two children.
