Anjali Gopalan is the Founder and Executive Director of The Naz Foundation (India) Trust, a non-profit organization committed to combating India's HIV/AIDS epidemic. In the United States, Anjali began working on issues connected to HIV/AIDS and underprivileged populations.
When she returned to India in the early 1990s, she was disappointed by the government's and even civil society's lack of responsiveness to the rising HIV pandemic. Her answer was to found Naz India, which focuses on marginalized groups in India.
