Andy Milnes Biography

Andy Milnes is the BP Americas Head of Supply and Trading and responsible for Crude Oil globally. He transitioned to this role in July 2008, from his previous role of Regional Business Unit Leader for BP IST Oil Americas.

Following 2 years in the British Merchant Navy, Milnes graduated from Trent (Nottingham) Polytechnic in 1988 with a BSc in Manufacturing Systems and a BA in Business. He joined BP in late 1988 and spent the early part of his career in a variety of supply and commercial roles in Scotland and London. In 1991, Milnes moved into the Benelux Refining and Supply group and then onto a variety of commercial refining and trading roles. In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles to integrate Arco's supply and trading activity into BP and subsequently took on the role of Supply General Manager for US Refining. On Milnes' return to London he took up a position on the Refining Portfolio and then VP of International Refining Joint Ventures. Milnes next moved to Downstream Director for Strategic Projects Asia before taking on the position of Regional Business Unit Leader for IST Oil Americas.
