Amy Margerum is in charge of the Aspen Institute's governance, finance, technology, and conference center operations in Aspen Meadows and Wye River. She is also in charge of community outreach in the Roaring Fork Valley. Amy worked as the City Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Aspen, Colorado, prior to joining the Aspen Institute.
The City of Aspen adopted an innovative performance-based management system under her supervision, which tracks the outcomes of government services and compensates staff accordingly. Amy worked as the planning director for the City of Aspen and Pitkin County from 1989 to 1991, and as the director of long-range planning for the County of Santa Barbara, California, from 1988 to 1989.
