Amy Finkelstein Biography

The Ford Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is Amy Finkelstein (MIT). Her research is in health policy, and she has utilized a Medicaid lottery, among other things, to examine the impact of providing public health insurance to low-income uninsured people in the United States using a randomized controlled design. Finkelstein is a member of the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and he was a Junior Fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows earlier. Her many honors include the John Bates Clark Medal, a Sloan Research Fellowship, and a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.
