Amy Alcott Biography

Amy is a member of the LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame. She is a 35 year member of the LPGA  tour and the winner of 32 professional tournaments. She is a noted author, having just published her 2nd book, this one " The LEADERBOARD; Conversations on Golf and Life " foreword by Jim Nantz.

Winner of 32 world wide professional titles in the LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame, Jewish Sports Halls of Fame, CA Golf Hall of Fame, winner of the VARE trophy in 1980 for low scoring average

3-time winner of the Kraft-Nabisco Golf Championship, 1980 US Open,1979 Canadian Open

Amy started playing the game on her West  LA  front yard putting into soup cans and sprinkler heads at age 10...and learned to play golf indoors from her mentor, Walter Keller...a truly inspirational story-Amy won the CA state womens amatuer at 17 and then turned pro right out of high school. She joined the LPGA in 1975 and won in only her third event in pro golf. Amy has traveled world wide. She is on the board of the Jackie Robinson foundation and is very involved in the world of golf on and off the course.

Amy has co-designed 2 golf courses at this writing-one in Palm Springs, CA- Indian Canyons resort and the other in Ocean Isle, NC- Brick Landing Plantation

Amy donates her time to the prestigious Harvard-Westlake school in Los Angeles as the program head of the girl's golf team. She is on the board of the Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA

Amy is head of her own sports consulting and golf design co. in Los Angeles- Amy Alcott Golf. She is a playing editor for Golf Digest magazine.
