Alison Wright is an English Actress best known for her role as Martha Hanson on The Americans, a series for which she was a regular from season 2 to season 4, and appeared as a guest during season 5, a performance for which she was nominated for an Emmy for Best Drama Guest Actress.
Wright was born in Sunderland, England and studied at the Lee Strasburg Theatre and Film Institute and at The Barrow Group in New York City. Wright made her television debut in 2013 as Martha Hanson in the first season of the critically acclaimed American period drama series The Americans, which is set in the 1980s during the Cold War. Although sWright was only a recurring character in season 1, she became a series regular for season 2, which she kept until season 4. She then appeared as a guest on a season 5 episode, for which she received an Emmy nomination.
