Ali Bonar is the founder of Kween Foods as well as an eating disorder survivor and advocate. She has stated that her disordered eating tendencies began in high school continued through her time in college at UC Berkeley and only began to be curbed when she sought help post-grad.
Her disordered eating was a way for her to manage stress as well as a way to relieve it (she struggled with binge eating). Ali started Kween Foods because she wanted to offer foods that nourished bodies while being delicious.
