Alex House was born to be a stand-up comedian. She grew up on Long Island, which has produced comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O'Donnell, and Lenny Bruce.
Without a television, she and her brother had to occupy themselves by imitating routines from Johnny Carson, The Carol Burnett Show, and Saturday Night Live that they had watched while staying at friends' houses. Campus Activities Magazine has nominated her for Comedian of the Year. The same newspaper nominated her for Female Entertainer of the Year in 2004.
