Actor Alec Baldwin was born on April 3, 1958 in Massapequa, New York. Alec Baldwin is easily the best-known and oldest of the 4 Baldwin brothers (Stephen, William, and Daniel Baldwin) in the acting business. While at George Washington University, Alec Baldwin planned to attend law school when he auditioned for the New York University Undergraduate Drama Program on a dare. In 1979, he was accepted and began what would become his professional training. He was cast in the daytime TV series, The Doctors, on NBC in 1980 and has subsequently worked in nearly every venue as a professional actor ever since. Baldwin also happens to be a graduate of New York University (BFA Tisch School of the Arts), 1994. As a supporter of various causes related to public policy, Baldwin has spoken out about environmentalism, the government’s support of the arts campaign, finance reform, animal rights, and gun control. Baldwin also serves on the board of directors for The Bay Street Theatre (Sag Harbor Long Island), The New York University/Brennan Center for Justice Program Advisory Board, People For The American Way, and the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund that is dedicated in honor of his mother. He is also a dedicated and vigorous supporter of the East Hampton Daycare Center, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
