Alano Miller is currently starring in Misha Green and Joe Pokaski’s critically acclaimed WGN period drama Underground. Miller stars as “Cato” a striking cunning and oddly charismatic slave on a Georgia plantation who is despised and feared by the other slaves. Daniel Fienberg of The Hollywood Reporter described Miller as “the best of the supporting escapees” and Neil Genzlinger of The New York Times described his performance as “Fabulous.”
Additionally Miller can be seen co-starring alongside Joel Edgerton Michael Shannon Ruth Negga and Nick Kroll in Loving. The film tells the story of Richard (Edgerton) and Mildred (Negga) Loving an interracial couple who were sentenced to prison in Virginia in 1958 for getting married. This true story comes to the big screen from writer-director Jeff Nichols. The film has been receiving extraordinary reviews and is on track to the Oscar race.
Miller also appeared in the 2013 film “Wish You Well” helmed by Darnell Martin starring alongside Ellen Burstyn Josh Lucas and Ned Bellamy.
