Honey Boo Boo' (born Alana Thompson on August 28, 2005 in McIntyre, Georgia) appeared on an episode of TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras. Her over-the-top personality and unfiltered comments made her famous (or, possibly, notorious) (true, most 6-year-olds don't have a filter, but Honey Boo Boo's version of "unfiltered" is exceptionally amusing).
A YouTube video of her participation on the show went viral, catapulting Alana to stardom, and the rest, as they say, is history. She became such a popular pop cultural icon that TLC (maybe sensibly) decided to give Honey Boo Boo and the Honey Boo Boo, uh Thompson family their own reality program, Here Comes Honey Boo.
