During his time as one of the five first MTV VJs, Alan Hunter became a part of American pop culture. He is presently one of the hosts of SiriusXM Satellite Radio's "Big 80's" channel.
Since 2004, he has hosted Encore's annual "Big 80's Movie Weekend." He was the host of the Starz Channel's original series "Looking For Stars." Hunter Films was founded by him in 1995, and in 2003, the business was nominated for an Academy Award for the short film JOHNNY FLYNTON.
