AJ McLean is a model, singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer. He is most known for being a member of the Backstreet Boys, a vocal group. An advertisement in the newspaper in March 1992 sought young males between the ages of 16 and 19 for an audition with a new music group.
He auditioned for the group despite being 14 years old. By April 1992, McLean had formally joined the Backstreet Boys as the group's first member. The Backstreet Boys were established in 1993 by McLean, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell. The band had a lot of success in the 1990s and early 2000s.
