Adam Met Biography

Dr. Adam Met combines his roles as a musician with his work as a climate advocate and scholar. AJR fans worldwide recognize him as their bassist and backing vocalist because he has performed in front of one million people during a single tour while his music reached more than 8 billion streams across the globe.

The academic achievements of Dr. Met include a BA in Business & Philosophy from Columbia University and an MA in Constitutional Religious Law from NYU and a PhD in International Human Rights Law & Sustainable Development from the University of Birmingham. Dr. Met teaches climate policy and human rights and movement-building courses at Columbia’s School of International & Public Affairs as an adjunct professor.

Planet Reimagined emerged from his 2018 initiative as a nonprofit organization which combines research with media and music to train climate leaders while shaping renewable energy policies. Through his platform Met works with Congress and the White House and EPA and DOE and UNDP to promote bipartisan solutions including Inflation Reduction Act provisions.
