Abe grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts, surrounded by colleges and their theatrical departments, where the lack of prepubescent enrollment left a number of unfilled roles for a local youngster to fill. Abe Smith was the local lad. During junior and senior high school.
Abe continued to express his adolescent angst on stage, even founding his own juggling firm (The No Onions Juggling Co.) to supplement his income. But it was soon time to depart Amherst, Massachusetts, for Brown University, where I hoped to become a big fish. And he stayed there. It will last three semesters.
