Abby Stein is a Jewish activist, educator, writer, and speaker. She is the 10th generation of the Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Hasidic Judaism, and was born and reared in a Hasidic family of rabbinic heritage. Abby went to Yeshiva and graduated with a rabbinical degree in 2011. She left the Hasidic community in 2012 to pursue other worldviews.
In 2015, Abby came out as a transgender woman. She has worked to promote support and awareness for trans rights and people leaving Ultra-Orthodoxy since coming out.
