Aaron Paul hit the screen first with his supporting roles on series Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place. Paul had supporting turns in K-PAX as Jeff Bridges’ estranged son and Van Wilder in 2002 which followed his feature debut in the harmless teen comedy, Whatever It Takes. Playing Sky Commander Winky on an episode of The X-Files is perhaps the most significant role of Paul’s early jobs being that this character happened to be named after Vince Gilligan, a series writer and producer, who later chose Paul when casting for the Breaking Bad series. Paul also logged screen time on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation ER and Veronica Mars all by 2002. Although film appearances were relatively few and far between at this time, he did obtain a rare lead in Candy Paint. Additionally, Paul made an appearance opposite Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible III as well as several episodes of television in 2006. A major breakthrough for the actor came the following year when Paul was cast as Scott, the upstanding and responsible fiancé of Sarah (Amanda Seyfried) on Big Love. As the polar opposite of Scott, stood Paul’s next and most acclaimed character to date, Jesse Bruce Pinkman on Breaking Bad. This character being a rampant drug user who was cast out of his upper-middle class family to partner with his former high school chemistry teacher (Bryan Cranston) whose terminal cancer has forced him to deal crystal meth as a way to support his family. As a result of this edgy and often fearless role, Paul was met with Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2009 and 2010, winning in 2010.
