Renowned Urbanist Set to Shed Light on the Future of Transport for Motown’s Next Generation
The Mobility Innovation Exchange (MIX) is taking place on September 26 at Detroit’s Huntington Place. The daylong conference is hosted by the State of Michigan’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification and is part of the Mobility Week in Michigan. The summit will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore the future of mobility in the Great Lakes State, encompassing urban air transport, electric aviation, supply chain overhauls, and industrial transformation.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer delivered a recent Executive Directive to explore advanced aerial mobility and how public-private partnerships can revamp the future for generations of Michiganders to come.
Greg Lindsay, renowned urbanist, futurist, journalist, and highly sought-after speaker, has been chosen to deliver the program’s keynote, giving insight into the intersections of cities, technology, mobility, and climate change.

Lindsay had served as Chief Communications Officer at Climate Alpha, an AI-driven platform guiding investments toward climate-resilient regions, and as an Urban Tech Fellow at Cornell Tech, where he leads the “Metaverse Metropolis” initiative to develop safety standards for augmented reality in urban environments. A non-resident senior fellow at MIT’s Future Urban Collectives Lab and the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Strategy Initiative, Lindsay advises governments and firms like Intel, Google, and FedEx on innovation and globalization.
Co-author of the bestselling book “Aerotropolis: The Way We’ll Live Next” (2011), he contributes to Fast Company and has spoken at the Aspen Ideas Festival, U.S. State Department, and Venice Architecture Biennale. A two-time Jeopardy! Champion who bested IBM’s Watson, Lindsay’s work explores AI’s societal impacts, post-pandemic urban evolution, and crafting a harmonious society with technological advancements and thoughtful planning.
